Chapter 1 – Don’t Skip This Part

by | Aug 29, 2016

Why I Wrote This Book

My name is Bret Gregory. I am passionate about yoga, health, and wellness, and I love teaching enlightened entrepreneurs how to get more customers and increase their sales using Facebook. In 2006, I lost my dear brother, Eric, to cancer, which is when I decided to dedicate my life to helping others improve their health and well-being. So I embarked on developing a wellness community of my own, and through three years of trial and error and making every marketing mistake in the book, I learned how to get more customers from Facebook and in turn, help more people achieve better health and wellness.

We had so much success in getting new Facebook fans and customers from Facebook that many of my entrepreneurial friends kept asking me to teach them how I did it. In teaching these techniques, I’ve discovered that I could help many times more people achieve better health and wellness and improve their lives if I could show other enlightened entrepreneurs how to grow their tribes and businesses on Facebook. I also decided to expand beyond health and wellness entrepreneurs—to help any entrepreneurs who are leveraging their businesses—in the interest of helping others and making the world better for all.

Global Challenges

We live in an incredible time where humanity is facing many global challenges: unsustainable healthcare costs, energy shortages, pollution, poverty, and more. While many of these issues are not new, they are converging together at a critical time, which may result in irreversible damage to our world. The time to act is now.

Enlightened Entrepreneurs

To quote my good friend Matt Monahan,

Fortunately, everywhere you look, people are rising to the occasion. The enormity of the issues is giving way to unbridled energy. Accelerating problems are being countered with accelerating solutions. Fuller human potential is being unleashed. People are “waking up.”

I call these people enlightened entrepreneurs. I use the phrase enlightened entrepreneurs to describe a new generation of entrepreneurs and leaders who are putting their passion for doing good above making profits, and who, in the process, are creating abundance through innovations that we have never seen prior to our generation.

I’m also excited to be helping another amazing enlightened entrepreneur, my good friend Mallika Chopra, Deepak Chopra’s daughter, who founded www.intent.com, an online community that helps people support one another to achieve their aspirations.

Or like my friend Shanda Sumpter, founder of Heart-Core Business, who helps enlightened entrepreneurs create more abundance in their businesses and fulfillment in their lives. It’s been an honor to serve Shanda and her tribe in creating their Facebook message and broadcasting their vision of helping one million entrepreneurs fulfill their potential.

I believe that if you are an enlightened entrepreneur and I can help you spread your message of helping others, then I will be doing the most good for humanity that I possibly can. If I can help you learn how to get more customers through these Facebook marketing techniques, then I will be creating abundance and fulfillment that will spread more positivity across the globe than anything else I could do.

This book is for you, an enlightened entrepreneur looking to step out of the shadows, play a bigger game, and make a bigger impact on the world. If you are ready to attract your tribe, increase traffic to your website, and thereby increase sales to your business, then please join me on this amazing journey to expand your global presence, promote your positive message, and build your business right now.

There are six important, universal questions that I get all the time about Facebook marketing, six questions that apply to any individual or business looking to promote their idea or business online via Facebook. Here they are:

Question #1: Are my customers on Facebook?

Facebook is the largest social media network in the world with well over 1 billion people who have accounts. It is popular with people between the ages of 30 and 65, who also happen to make up the largest consumer generations in the world. Furthermore, people over 65 are the fastest growing segment of Facebook users. The social network is ideal for sharing and particularly suited for building communities and bringing people together. This is one of the main reasons that I love Facebook as a tool for enlightened entrepreneurs who really want to build their tribe and expand their customer base. Facebook is, by far, the best place in the world to get your products and services shared and “discovered,” and together, we will walk through the process, step by step, of exactly how to do that.

Question #2: Can I make money on Facebook?
Yes. This is a good question and something that a lot of people are curious about. In fact, since there are well over 1 billion people now on Facebook (a number that is on track to double in three years), it’s definitely worth knowing how to tap into this community. That knowledge can be the difference between a career filled with success and freedom, or remaining dependent on a 9-to-5 job for the rest of your life.

However, most people don’t know how to leverage Facebook to make money. Facebook is the largest word-of-mouth marketing platform in the world, and people aren’t using it that way. Most people use Facebook advertising the way Google Advertising was intended, through its search function. Unfortunately, no one logs onto Facebook to search for our products, services, or see whether or not we are having a sale today. They log in to see what their friends are doing. Now, if what their friends are doing happens to be attending your next event, free webinar, or seminar, and that friend just registered for your Facebook event, then this potential customer can now “discover” you, your products, and your services.

If you haven’t made any money on Facebook, don’t worry—you’re in an extremely large club. Most people in that audience of 1 billion people haven’t made any money off of Facebook, either. However, just the fact that you are reading this book means that you aren’t like most people. In this book, you’ll not only learn how to make money off of Facebook, you’ll also learn how to build your tribe into raving fans who become your biggest source of referrals to new customers.

Question #3: How do I make money on Facebook?
Now that we’ve addressed the question of whether we can make money on Facebook, the next concern is how we do it. This is really the billion-dollar question today, because while there are many businesses trying to make money on Facebook, most of them are doing it wrong and do not succeed.

You can grow a community without wasting your hard-earned cash on Facebook ads that cost a lot and seem to have little or no return. Instead, I’m going to teach you many free techniques, and how to create extremely cost-effective Facebook ads. You will learn how, in just under five minutes a day, to create a “fan-page magnet” that will attract hundreds and thousands and even tens of thousands of real, prospective customers! These customers, who are in your target market—or in your tribe, as I like to say—will visit and “Like” your page. I’ll show you how to drive that traffic from your Facebook page to your website, and how to turn those fans into paying customers that appreciate what you do and are perfect for your business or service.

Question #4: How can I build my tribe and community on Facebook?
First off, I borrowed the word “tribe” (originally from Seth Godin’s book Tribes) because it really resonates with me, as well as with many other enlightened entrepreneurs, as a way not just to gain customers, but also to build a community of followers and fans. Furthermore, when you find a group of people with a similar problem that they will pay you to solve, you’ve found a potentially lucrative tribe. I’ve found that Facebook is the very best place in the world to build your tribe now and take your business and your life to the next level.

As Godin puts it, “When you build a community that resonates with you, when you are able to share your authentic voice with that community, that’s building your tribe.”

Later in this book, I will show you how to find that community and attract your perfect customer by using Facebook’s simple Audience Insights tools, creating custom and look-alike audiences, and delivering real value to your tribe on your Facebook page.

You’ll attract a tribe that loves and respects you just by being yourself—by being real and by engaging with your customers and fans on topics that are important to them. You won’t just be saying what you think your customers want to hear, but rather, what they actually want to hear, and more importantly, what they are willing to pay for. The more authentic your voice is, the more authentic your content will be. In turn, your posts and your photographs will reflect this, and the more you share that authenticity, the more you will attract the tribe that is right for you and your business.

The best news is that you will be growing your page through organic growth and viral traffic, and thus, you’ll grow your business through word-of-mouth marketing on Facebook.

Question #5: I don’t have the time to sit endlessly on Facebook. How can I get new customers in just five minutes per day?
Facebook has probably qualified as the world’s largest black hole for your productive time. That’s true for many people, but it doesn’t have to be for you. With the free techniques you will learn in this short, handy book, you can boil down your Facebook marketing into approximately five minutes a day for maximum leverage of your time. You can get the results you want without wasting an entire hour, afternoon, or day. This will free you up to spend your time doing what you’re really good at and what you love, i.e., helping others achieve a better life. The biggest tip I can give you here is to stay off your News Feed. The News Feed is what you see on your home screen on Facebook or on your phone. It’s where you see what your ‘friends’ are doing, and it’s where most people waste countless hours of their time. It’s tempting to check every time you log in, but now you know better and can use your time on Facebook to add value for your customers and get more of them to come to you.

Question #6: I don’t have an advertising budget. How can I grow my business on Facebook without spending any money?
In my opinion, this is one of the biggest things that businesses are doing wrong today. It’s also one of the biggest questions in business marketing today: how do you grow your page without blowing all your cash on Facebook advertising that doesn’t work?

Good question. Many of the techniques that you’re going to learn by reading this book, such as using a Photo Album StackTM, a Photo of the Day, and Article Stacking are free techniques that will help you grow your page, traffic to your website, and get customers for your business.

Now, I’ve grown four pages to over 2.4 million Likes cumulatively. For example, let’s take a look at www.fb.com/costaricaviews, the largest Costa Rica Facebook page in the world, where we did over $1.5 million in sales for our super eco-friendly wellness community and yoga retreat center called “Rise” in Costa Rica (www.costaricawellness.com).

Also, www.fb.com/costaricayoga, the largest Facebook page for yoga in the world, currently generates at least $8,000 per month in Costa Rica Yoga Retreat commissions.

There’s also www.fb.com/LikeBret, which consistently generates over $30,000 per month in recurring coaching and revenue and online training information product sales.

Finally, www.fb.com/The.New.Earth.Project is our worldwide sovereignty movement, launching as a planetary network of conscious communities. This is where we end big-government, war-economy, and voluntary servitude. This is a great example of how we use Facebook to play big, help millions of people improve their lives and make a positive lasting differenc in the world.

I grew these Facebook pages to incredible numbers quickly and inexpensively using the Photo Album StackTM, Article StackTM, 3-Step Viral Post Formula, and Global Ad Secret that I developed by testing thousands of posts and spending tens of thousands of dollars on Facebook Ads, and I’ll be sharing what I learned so that you don’t have to struggle through the same. You can implement these techniques in just five minutes a day—but best of all, most of them are completely free. I just love how the most powerful techniques are often the simplest and easiest, as well as the least expensive. It’s a win-win on all accounts.

You can, with little-to-no money at all, have a great tribe on Facebook and a thriving fan page that’s well-liked by your targeted prospective customers. You can use these to help propel your business and your message so you can increase your sales, reach more customers, and spend more of your time doing what you love and what you’re really good at. In the next chapters, you will learn step by step how to do this. This includes:

explode your sales by creating a word-of-mouth Facebook marketing campaign

naming a page to maximize Likes, and building and sustaining that page;

creating content that your customers will love;

how to get your posts to go viral and Crush It!;

targeting your niche: how to grow big by focusing small; and

creating viral content that your customers will share and thus, spread your message for you.

In a recent Nielsen study, it was revealed that people spend 450{1f66b0d6ce0a11e4cd58ff5465420e8dd2d95871f419a96084a01d4981a25874} more time on Facebook than they do searching Google. With the population of Facebook users about to exceed 3 billion within the coming decade, it’s close to inevitable that your customers are on Facebook, with or without you. Groups that were traditionally not on Facebook previously are now the fastest growing segments, and we expect that trend to continue.

In today’s social-media age, almost every major marketing endeavor requires a Facebook presence. Whether it’s to develop your brand or product or to build your direct-marketing list, these audiences will differ accordingly, and your message must be tailored to your customers.

Today, staying connected in the social-media world can give you massive leverage to grow your business. You can learn what customers love about your brand, what your competitors do, and in which areas you need improvement. You can also nurture relationships that will strengthen your brand and customer loyalty in deeper ways than you’ve ever imagined.

It’s all in how you approach it and what you do to sustain and nurture your Facebook community and network.
