What is the secret of the most successful FB marketers? It starts with MINDSET!

The picture above is me and my wife at our property in Costa Rica. This business allows us to work from anywhere and take our kids on vacations. It all starts with the mindset.

This is me in front of Mount Kilimanjaro in 2008. This image is an analogy of what it takes to get profitable FB ads step-by-step. I hiked 8000 meters tall, the highest point in Africa. It takes 5 days. It’s over 50 miles. I walked for hours, in my own zone. It became more difficult as the altitude increased. I’d look up and it would seem that the mountain was not getting any closer. But I had a guide, and I was following a proven path. We had all of the proper team and tools to actually make it. So I trusted that if I kept going, I would get there. Yes, we made it to the summit!

In creating FB ads, I’ve discovered that having the proper mindset is critical. Often, what you are doing doesn’t seem to be working. But in fact, you are getting to the summit and learning valuable lessons as you reach your destination.

Categorize all groups of people into 2 categories: People with a fixed mindset and those with a growth mindset.

Fixed people can’t get past obstacles. They are not able to problem solve. They give up and can’t make it. I know that’s not you because you are here. You have a growth mindset, which is much more than just positive thinking. With a growth mindset, you know if you persevere, regardless of what gets in your way, you will succeed. The most successful business marketers maintain this growth mindset. I am certain you do too!

Mindset One:

FB is the world’s largest Word of Mouth Marketing platform. But people are not using FB ads that way. They use FB ads as if they are on Google, using a solution to problem strategy.

Nobody goes on FB to find solutions to such problems. They log on to find out what their friends are up to.

If their friends are enrolled in a new course on FB ad marketing and post about their excitement, the word of mouth marketing momentum begins. This is called discovery. We will teach you how to use your ads so you can use discovery and social proof.

Mindset 2:

Ads are just 1 piece of the puzzle. You could have the best ad, best image, best copy, best CTA in the world or best gift in the world, but if it’s targeted to the wrong people, it’s ineffective. This program fits all of the puzzle pieces to create a profitable FB ad. It’s not complicated. Let’s break them down into steps.

Begin with your customer. Many people ask me: what’s the best ad, best gift, etc.? I ask, “Have you interviewed your customers yet? What’s their biggest problem which they will pay you to handle?”

A survey is great, but have you SPOKEN to paying customers about it? Let’s start there. What is their biggest problem?

The most successful marketers talk to their customers daily, not text, FB, etc., but actually speak on the telephone or Skype their customers daily. If you aren’t willing to speak with your customers, it won’t work. If you create what I call the marketing habit and engage and talk with your customers daily, you will rapidly outpace the competition, have great sales and increase your list.

Profitable FB ads are a step-by-step process that anyone can do. In 2008, I had never even built a website before. After losing my brother to cancer, I moved to Costa Rica and out of desperation, I jumped on FB and made many mistakes. Eventually, I built the largest Costa Rica FB page in the world, which allowed me to make millions in sales. I’m going to lay this out for you so you can also do this.

Profitable FB ads are about motivating your customers to click and to purchase your programs. How do you do that? How do you motivate them to pay you money?

The most powerful way to do that is to offer a solution to the customers’ problems. If you can solve it, there’s a good chance they will pay you to do it. When it comes to FB ads, a lot of people want to run an ad that says “sign up for my webinar”, “come to my telesummit”, “buy my product.” It doesn’t describe how it will help the customer. You must position your ad on how it will benefit your clients and solve their problem.

The best marketers assume that we don’t know which ad or image will resonate with our customers, which will be the most effective and which won’t work at all. So instead of creating 1 ad, we create 10 ads.

Then we test, and test, and test. The good news is FB makes this super easy. It is the easiest platform I’ve ever seen to test different images, audiences, etc. Frequently, people will tell me they tried my ad technique and it didn’t work. When they give me more info, I realize they didn’t follow everything I instructed. They will say they created 1 ad not 10 and spent $10. That’s a great first step, but you have to do 9 more! 1 ad will not build your list, fill your webinars, make lots of sales, etc. To find just ONE that works, you have to do at least 10.

Search for customers who are already looking for you. Profitable FB ads and profitable marketing involves looking for these customers who are looking for you. You find out who they are by speaking to them daily!

You must create value. In order for someone to click on an ad, they must see some value there. You cannot just request they click, you have to MOVE them to click. You must make them see there is some perceived value there. They must look at it and say, “Oh that is a solution to my problem!”

Target your customers! This doesn’t mean shooting them in the face with an arrow. This is an analogy. Learn to target them so you will hit the bullseye every time.

It is a mindset! And I’m going to show you how right now.

Take out a pen and paper and work through these questions:

  • What is the part of your FB ad mindset that has held you back from success?
  • What FB ad and marketing mindset shift will make the biggest difference towards business success?
  • What will you do to consistently convert this mindset in to action to ensure you create business success?

For myself, I needed accountability in order to put this kind of mindset shift into action. I had to hire a coach. But you could get an accountability partner, make a public declaration, or something else that will motivate you and keep you on course.
